Wednesday Journal Entry

People want to institutionalize us. They call us lazy, ungrateful and unsanctioned. They try to erase us, by experimenting on us to change who we are and how we act. They follow us in hospitals and on campuses. They choose to ignore our consent and autonomy. They lie because the hellish force of fascism will burnout. Being queer and disabled is being threatened.
Between all the love I’m holding together and underneath the stacks of grief. I’m hopeful about our liberation.
WordPress Prompt – What’s your top tip to be successful in life?
June 21, 2026
Don’t chase power or maintain unethical income. A struggle fought because of ethical boundaries is okay. Meet your needs, understand that it is in solidairty of others. A collective goal to meet the gap of collective betterment is worthwhile with time.
Dismantle the ideology of success through capital and ownership. Hierachy favors anti-social structures, gatekeeping mentality and exceptionalism (derogetory). Which harms others and hinders their ability to succeed.
Never conform to white supremacy or christian nationalism.
Find success in being good, inclusive and honest instead.
Proleptic Media Study – Retrospective
June 12, 2026 (Updated June 18, 2026. Fixed for clarity. P1, P8 and P10)
In my first independent media analysis newsletter(? It’s slop) I focused on immersive media’s effect on public understanding.
Titled Simulation Warfare, I wrote about an example of “proleptic media”, a rhetorical lens used in “Joystick Soldier”. The authors of the 2009 book defined proleptic media as “…postmodern warfare that justifies a discourse of inevitable military preemption and intervention, effectively foreclosing the possibility of peace.” I explored public sentiment related to US-Iran war, the history of simulation in the US and stormed a virtual Tehran in Battlefield 3.
I started my research prior to the Israel-US joint bombings of Iran last summer, but I finished the article after Pres. Trump claimed Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities had been “obliterated”.
Battlefield 3 (2011) was the media focus of the article. The game’s plot takes place in the near future at the time, 2014.
Many familiar angles that would lbe used by the Trump administration to rally support around regime change and bombing campaigns in a military partnership with Israel.
- US National Security officials have been calling on Iranians to overthrow the central government in Tehran. In Battlefield 3 the main soldier, a US Marine and his three squad members stumble on a civil conflict in Tehran and quickly take advantage of the situation using the chaos to find the leader of Iran and capture him.
- Most reasons the US and allies cite for invasion, conflict and sanctions center around Iranian nuclear capabilities, specifically enrichment. In Battlefield 3 during the manhunt for the fictionalized Ayatollah, the main character receives intel that he is in a vault at the “Central Bank”. While the four Marines stumble on nuclear war heads in a brief case, in a bank vault; the Ayatollah escapes.
For Iran’s part, Battlefield 3 was banned from being released in the country. Reportedly for depicting a civil uprising. The state continues to suppress the voices of protests inside the country, while blocking media coverage of the government’s interior violence from the rest of the world.
We have been in an active violent conflict with Iran for over three months now. The federal government continues to mass communicate, but has failed to gain public support for US military action in Iran.
Notice: A US-Iran agreement known as a Memorandom of Understanding was signed by the two parties yesterday, which could lead to the end of US military aggression.
New claims reveal that Israel has been pushing for the US to joint-attack Tehran, Iran’s capitol city since before 2014. This shows that the game may have intended to push specific military support into the subconscious of unwitting gamers, imo.
My retro-analysis is: The rhetorical intent of Battlefield 3 is relevant but the impact of media like it has been lessened by time. I would suggest that a mass shift in prefigurative politics has taken place. As a result, the American people are less hawkish than they were in 2011 and 2014.
The Future of Journalism, Transcends Mediums
June 9, 2026
People are leaving social media, rejecting AI, bringing back retro technology and seeking connections in the real world.
In pre-literate America, when most Americans could not read and books were sparse, news readers traveled between rural communities to spread information, from news largely printed in cities.
Today there is national discussion on media literacy among the public. Until the 21st century, media study was largely acedemic. While electronic media was heavily regulated by the federal government. The internet would eventually democratize mass media information dramatically, like the printing press and global trade had done in the past.
The push for greater media skills comes as right-wing parties attempt to mass censor information, ban books and exclude certain ideas from public. At the same time, tech oligarchs are enabling a de-literacy crisis to push AI reliance and in furthernace of algorithmic manipulation.
… Long story short …
People search for trusted sources for news updates, free from the powers that surveil infomation. The more we seperate trust from the state and legacy publishers, the more creative approaches to news sharing emerges.
The soap box still exists, in activism, in poetry, in music and in comedy. Art is where authenticity pervails, by gathering people in need of connection and understanding.
That is my theory at least. Journalism is transcending media more now. Because enlightenment is a response to information impediments and ‘thought crimes’.
The Newsby Podcast will feature interviews with news artists and information performers.
It’s Really Odd That People Want the Free Press to be Seperate from Activism and Advocacy.
June 6, 2026
Not everyone in the news is aligned morally and so we don’t respond and interact universally either. 1.
The more truer aspect about journalism, is it’s dilution because of capitalist values. Journalism is a social and common good, which aligns with activism, protest and political involvement. Journalists flexing their integrity muscle can weigh the harm of publicity and politics. 2.
Promoting that instinct and ethic is the same as supporting the people in opposition to power that commits harm. Whether that power is the state, corporations or individuals with access to the power of the state or corporations. 3.
There is no both sides to homelessness when there are homes being hoarded. There is no both sides to access to clean water. There is no both sides to human rights. There is no peace through war. No progress in ignorance. 4.
Rights, like common goods, equal access, reducing harm, and telling the truth in opposition to power; is what journalism is about.
WordPress Prompt – Do you believe in soulmates? Why or why not?
May 30, 2026
Absolutely! Not in a heteronormative or patriarchal sense. To me, with openness and love in my heart it is possible to have many soulmates in this lifetime.
My view is specific in a way because of my experiences and personal feelings as a pan-ace-sapphic lesbian. If it was normalized, I would have married most of my closest loves throughout my 20s, if they had asked. When we have feelings of gratitude and connection, that’s worth celebrating.
Whether platonic or romantic, relationships are aspects of life we should be proud to grow. Doing so outwardly is magical, because being in love with our friends is special.
It’s honestly so sad that Christian European dominance has perverted connection, by turning love into capture and ruining gay marriage in the process.
WordPress Prompt – How can you build a regular fitness routine?
May 15, 2026
As long as you are moving, then you are doing great.
Personally I dance, stretch, take walks, take the stairs, shower and try to get enough sleep every day.
Doing work that requires you to be on screens for a large portion of it means taking breaks every 45 minute (ideally) I find a daily fitness routine is best done when it compliments everything else. It is a great way to reset and the idea is to set an activity base line.
Think about it like this, if someone works out every single say but they don’t shower every day, or drink enough water or get good sleep, then they are not prepared and that may cause adverse effects from intensive exercise.
To create a fitness routine first begin by taking breaks in your day with the intention to move and decompress.
